Liffe met Simi through a mutual friend back in 2004 after moving to Oulu from Joensuu, but it wasn't until around 2007 that the idea of a band started to take shape. A few years later a demo called "Embryonic" was recorded, on which Simi did the drums. Drummer Tuomas "Tupe" Mustonen joined the band thereafter and in 2014 Tero Aikkila joined on bass.
